Commemorating the launch of their Japanese Twitter account, Platinum tweeted an original piece of Bayonetta artwork by Yusuke Hashimoto. Featuring her Bayonetta 2 design on a blue background, and her Bayonetta design on red, a fan noted how it resembled the red/blue Switch joy-cons. Platinum liked the tweet.
It might seem a little much to get too excited based on this fairly tame bit of social media interaction — after all, social media managers will like tweets more often than they won’t — but it’s not at all impossible Bayonetta Switch will happen in some form. Platinum Games have already expressed the desire to revisit Bayonetta in future.

It could end up being a port of the Wii U Bayonetta games. After all, according to Metacritic Bayonetta 2 is the third highest rated Wii U exclusive. It wouldn’t be great if such a fantastic game ended up trapped forever on a console that comparatively few people bought.
If they do end up doing a Bayonetta 3, which we’d love to see, it’d make sense to tide us over with the two previous games remastered for a current console. As Bayonetta 2 was funded by Nintendo, it will more than likely maintain Nintendo allegiance. They’re paying the bills, after all.
Currently only Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been a Switch port of a previously Wii U exclusive title. More are predicted to come, but have not yet been announced.
Of course, we’re probably getting hyped up over nothing with this “tease”, but it’s as good a time as any to rally and show support for Bayonetta Switch as a concept. It makes it all the more likely to actually happen. Though, it wouldn’t be surprising if it’s already in the works.
